The center point of the French Wars of Religion was the St. Bartholemew's Day massacre. Leading up to this event were a few other things done by the Ultra-Catholics to the Huguenots, as listed to the left, the main one being in 1562 at Vassay.

The Edict of Nantes gave some rights back to the Hugenots, but it was repealed later by Louis XIV.



All in all, the French Wars of Religion were a very bloody and unnecessary thing that killed many people, and not completely for religion either.
