I hail from Lewiston, ID and completed my Bachelor's at Lewis-Clark State College. After taking a year off to pursue my writing interests and the possibilities of a better job in my field, I decided to journey a bit north to Moscow, ID and the University of Idaho's graduate program in English. I
received my Master's degree in 1996, writing a thesis collection of short stories entitled Still Remains. As of July 5, 2001, I have completed my MFA in Creative Writing at UI. My thesis, short fiction about postmodern, adult superheroes, is entitled Alter Ego.
