| Seth Dannon grew up on the east coast in the 1830s. He became a carpenter by trade, but his business failed. In 1859, he traveled the Oregon Trail in search of something better. It was on the Trail that Seth died, suffering his First Death by a Lupine.
He awoke in an Cheyenne encampment, where he lived for several years until the village was massacred by a patrolling Union infantry. Seeking vengeance against the Union soldiers, Seth encountered his first Immortal. If not for a well-placed arrow by a Cheyenne warrior, Seth would have died permanently. Seth now had an enemy.
Seth then wandered the United States, mostly in the Pacific Northwest, taking a few heads and learning of his heritage. At the turn of the 20th century, Seth traveled to Europe, encountering many more Immortals and vampires. He was captured by a Tremere and held for a few years while the vampire fed off him and used his blood for thaumatergy. Seth's hatred toward vampires was tempered when he fell in love with a Toreador in the 1920s. She later committed suicide by watching the sun rise.
During the Korean War, Seth is killed in combat and buried in a mass grave. This would scar him psychologically. He was dug up by his Watcher, and the two men became friends.
During the 60s and 70s, Seth begins writing for various newspapers, eventually settling in Portland, OR. While there he begins a series of novels called The Immortal Chronicles. They are marginally successful. Seth learns of his Watcher's death by natural causes. He suspected the man's son was now watching him.
In the late 80s, Seth once more got the travel bug and headed to Europe again. There he met an American law student, Catherine, on vacation. He came back with her to Boulder, CO. He began writing novels again.
In 1995, Seth fought and barely won the head of his old Union Army nemesis. The fight devastated Catherine and the two separated.
By 1999, Seth had settled in Spokane, WA. |
