The weekend went well; Ozzie's tummy had no further upsets. We got a few short walks in, and he's always happy being able to sniff and pee as we walk around the neighborhood and nearby parks.
Ozzie's right foreleg has a funny dark discoloration where the hair hasn't grown back (see photo of Ozzie in upper left of this web page); it's probably the site of the last injection, which was Adriamycin. I'm a little concerned about it; I've touched it, he doesn't flinch, so it's probably not painful. I will likely call the veterinarian's office about it; I was going to bring him in later this week, anyway, to get him weighed since he was last weighed on March 16.
On Monday I called the vet about Ozzie's right foreleg's discoloration; she suggested I bring him in, which I did. The dark, bare spot in probably due to the numerous injections and shaving that leg endured; it wasn't red or inflamed, so she thought it had just been irritated over the months. I'll keep monitoring it. While we were there, I had Ozzie weighed, and he's 43.8#, a little more than the other week, but less than on his last chemo. I also had his nails trimmed; that was overdue, but he hates having them cut, so I delayed it because I didn't want to add the nail trim trauma to what he was already putting up with from the chemo.
The rest of the week went well for Ozzie; we got in some short walks in the rainy days, but then on Thursday the sun arrived and we started taking longer walks. Ozzie was tired after his first of the longer walks, but then he is getting older, but he likes the walks and the chance to check his "pee-mail," as our neighbor Jim calls it--checking for messages and leaving messages for other dogs.
