Ozzie's Lymphosarcoma Blog for Week of January 19, 2007 (chemo protocol week #19)

Ozzie is scheduled for an injection of Vincristine this week; it was to be an "off" week, but last week's blood tests showed his blood wasn't "good" enough for chemo. We hope he can get back on track this week with the 26 week chemo protocol.

His white cell PMNs count from Thursday's blood draw was 7700, which is excellent! So, Ozzie had his injection of Vincristine on Friday, and it went well. We'll be watching for any untoward after affects.

Ozzie was a little more quiet than usual over the weekend; whether it was from the chemo, or he just wasn't quite himself. He hadn't had chemo for three weeks, so maybe his body needed some time to adjust. His tummy has been fine; he hasn't had an "accident" since the very first weekend following his first chemo. I do think the Hill's Prescription Diet n/d canned dog food is an excellent food for him. Yes, it is a rich diet, and some dogs cannot handle that; but Ozzie likes it, and I'm sure it has helped him feel so much more healthy with a can of it each day as his primary food intake.
