We celebrated Ozzie's 12th birthday on Friday, June 8, along with the birthday of Maddie, Ozzie's cancer buddy who passed away on April 1. The day started out well, nice and sunny for a change. From the bakery we bought large (5" diameter) shortbread cookies with dog faces and birthday balloons (see photo below) to take to the vet's office to thank them for making it possible for Ozzie to be able to celebrate another birthday by being in remission. The vet and her staff were surprised, but pleased to be honored; I'm sure the cookies didn't take long to be eaten.

While we were at the vet's, we weighed Ozzie; he weighed 42.4 pounds, a weight loss of about a pound since he was last weighed on May 11. He does look slimmer, so I'll continue to feed and exercise him at the level we've been doing lately.

The weekend went well; we enjoyed the eating of cookies and walking to a local playfield. What else does one need?
