No chemo is scheduled for this week of the protocol. It's always nice to have a week free of trips to the veterinarian. Ozzie continues to look and act like a healthy dog, though his hair is getting thinner; sometimes a small clump of hair can be found on the floor or sofa. His weight is about 41 pounds, which means he hasn't lost his appetite during this chemotherapy protocol. While he is getting chemo, he has the Lixotinic vitamin and mineral supplement twice a day. He has four small meals a day, with about a quarter can of the Hill's Prescription n/d canned dog food along with a small amount of Iams dry dog food at each meal.
Ozzie has had a good week. On Thursday afternoon Ozzie had his blood drawn for testing to see if he can have the chemo for week #15 of the protocol. He weighed 40.2 pounds; a good weight for him; his appetite sure hasn't been affected by the chemotherapy. We'll find out on Friday if the chemo is a "go" for December 15 when the blood test results are back.
