Welcome
To
Moscow FUMC Youth Group
Special Notice: A
new Tweens Youth Group is being started for grades 4, 5, and 6. It will
initially meet once a month. For more details call the church office at

moscowfumc.youth@gmail.com.
Hi! I’m
JoyAnn, the new Youth Director at the Methodist Church here in Moscow.
I’d like to take the time to let you know a little bit about our youth
program, and about myself.
We have a small, but dedicated, group of youth
(grades 7 - 12) who would love to have you join them as we grow our program!
FUN:
We like to hang out and have fun…we play games,
have pizza, play video games, go on Silverwood trips and retreats, and much,
much more!!
DISCUSSION/EDUCATION:
But we’re not JUST about hanging out.
We also get together to talk about important issues facing today’s
teens: dating/relationships, death,
love, friendship, anger… and YES we will talk about biblical and spiritual
issues…but we respect that we all hold differing opinions and beliefs.
I like to think that we are attempting to wrestle with the tough
questions, and that we are expanding our minds and our hearts at the same time.
COMMUNITY
SERVICE:
We also believe that community service is a vital
part of what we do. It is important
that we all have a chance to band together to affect change in our community and
in our world!! That is why we
participate in activities like CROP walk, Christmas for Kids, various mission
trips, and MORE.
Please feel free to join us on Sunday afternoons from
3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will be among
friends… For more information
e-mail me at moscowfumc.youth@gmail.com.
ABOUT ME:
I grew up just over the hill and up the river from
here…in Orofino. I met my husband
when we were in high school, and we got married while we were attending the
University of Idaho. I have degrees
in both Journalism and Education. My
husband works for the University, and I have been a stay at home mom for our two
boys since our first son was born in 2002.
My dad is a minister, so I grew up in the
church…but that doesn’t mean I didn’t go through a rebellious phase where
I didn’t attend. For a time I
frankly didn’t think it was important, and I rejected much of what I had been
brought up to believe.
Now that I have kids of my own I am learning all over
again just how important our church family and our church programs really are.
I feel strengthened in my relationship with God, and I’m not afraid to
talk about it!!
Our family now attends the Moscow First United
Methodist Church, and we are getting very involved with the contemporary service
as well as with the youth program.
We are both very excited to be working with the youth
of our church, and we would love to have you come and join us any time you
like!!
