YAMS (Young and Mature Methodist Social)

{Formally known as Young Adult Methodist Society}

The following dates have been reserved for YAMS to gather and graze during the 2008-09 year:

Sept 12 -- Oct 10 -- Nov 14 --  Dec NO Gathering   --  Jan 9  --  Feb 13  --  Mar 13  --  April 10  --  May 8  --  Jun 12.

 YAMS usually meets on the 2nd Friday of the month at 6:00 pm in Epworth Hall.  The purpose is purely to nurture the body and mind with good food and great social exchange.  Everyone who is interested in gathering at this time should bring a favorite dish to share (there is no assigned list for deserts, salads, side dishes, or entree’s—we take our chances on a balanced diet).  Those hosting the evening will provide the condiments and make the coffee and tea.  If you wish to come, we ask that you notify the FUMC office or the host and let them know how many are in your group.  This way, we can be assured of adequate place settings for everyone.  Our gatherings have ranged from as few as 18 people to as many as 65 YAMS.

At the September Social, we will have a sign-up sheet so everyone will have an opportunity to host one of the future gatherings.  If you have not hosted before, we will make sure you have an experienced YAM to host with you to make the party easier.

 We normally do not have planned activities for the evening.  However there have been special entertainment on occasion, games and puzzles to work on, stories to share and sometimes a travelogue.  It is open to the host group to decide how much they want to do or match up the evening theme with the season closest to the Friday Social.

 Any questions send Ken Hall an e-mail (khall@moscow.com) or phone 208-883-0831 or cell 509-330-1430.  We look forward to seeing you all at YAMS this year.
