Moscow First United Methodist Church
Worshiping, Supporting, Renewing

At First United Methodist Church worship calls us to encounter the living Christ and each other.  Because different people have different needs, we offer two styles at two times.  How do you know which service is right for you? Try them both out. People choose based on style preferences or which time is most convenient for them.

Morning Worship is at 10:30 AM, following a full range of Sunday Schools classes for children and adults.  This service uses varied styles of music, including hymns sung to the pipe organ and praise choruses sung to guitar and banjo. Our chancel choir sings everything from gospel to jazz to classical, with accompaniment by many different instruments. Occasionally one of our hand bell choirs plays, and a couple of times of year the Sesitshaya Marimba band plays for us.  This service meets in the sanctuary, follows an printed order of worship, and includes Scripture, song, prayer, and sermon.  Both formal and informal attire are appropriate.  Nursery care is available for children age 4 and under, and Activity Time from mid way through the service for children ages 5 through Grade 3.

The Connection is an informal, contemporary service, meeting at 6:00 PM..  Music is contemporary, with lively music led by our praise band with guitars, base, and drums.  This service meets in Epworth Hall (the fellowship hall on the first floor of the church) and uses PowerPoint presentations for words to songs, Scripture, and sermon visuals.  People are welcome to participate at the level comfortable for them, standing or singing, clapping or raising their hands or simply listening.  Nursery care is available throughout the service, and children K-Grade 3 go to Sunday School class after about 15 minutes.

Sermons are posted on our Web site, usually within 24 hours.
