Summer Days, Moving into Fall

3 More Rs: Recreate, Relate, Rejuvenate

It is so clearly still summer here, even while the countdown to Fall term is getting into the smaller numbers. Don’t let that worry you. Just make each lovely day count.

While the university campus and the schools are getting revved up for fall term, so are the churches in town, including Emmanuel.

Sunday School classes begin the week following Labor Day weekend:

Consider, at least for a prayerful moment, the possibility of being a teacher, a co-teacher, a helper with the Emmanuel Sunday School. Remember the famous Joubert quote:" to teach is to learn twice." You can maybe double that sum teaching Sunday School!

The Sound of Music

Name the writer of this quote: "Next to the word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world." Hint: He said it in German.

Ja sure. Martin Luther himself. And he joins Janet McIntosh and a "godly host" of other musicians here, inviting you to come join in the noble (and really fun) art of making music at Emmanuel this fall among a voice choir, handbell choir, instrumental ensemble, mixed group, Gospel group, or "contemporary" group of younger or somewhat older rockers.

Bonus Luther quote: "How soon ‘not now’ becomes ‘never’."

Lots of other ways to practice the "new" 3Rs are offered at church. Come see. Come enjoy.

Recreate                                         Relate                                     Rejuvenate

Come worship with us. Come serve alongside us.
Come study, learn, discuss and grow with us.
Continue to share the peace, mercy, justice and joy of Christ.

8 and 10:30 am at Emmanuel Sunday Worship
9:15 adult study and discussion in August: The Bible Itself
Classes for all ages resume on Rally Day September 7
