We are shocked at the blatent avarice of the NCAA by adding a "Play-In" game. That sort of thing should be left to sports agents and office pools. We are boycotting this game. Either team selected will be considered a correct pick, with no points awarded. In order to encourage risky behavior, if you choose either team to advance you will get the Cinderella bonus, even if you pick the wrong team.
4. As always, trash talking is encouraged!
Use the e-mail addresses supplied with our updates to gloat and/or cajole other entrants in the pool.
If we don't know you, please send us just a little information about yourself (e.g.. how did you get connected to the pool ?).
Likewise, feel free to send us "helpful comments" about or "incriminating photos" of others in the pool. We'll gladly add these to the web page in order to maintain the proper sense of "decorum" for these festivities.
5. Points will be awarded as follows (points per round in parentheses)
Round 1 1 point each (32 points)
Round 2 2 points each (32 points)
Regional semi-finals 4 points each (32 points)
Regional finals (pick the final four) 4 points each (16 points)
National semi-finals 5 points each (10 points)
National Champion 10 points (10 points)
Bonus Double your points for Cinderella picks in all rounds (Seeds 13-16 in every region).
i.e. Correct Cinderella pick in round 1 = 2 points, round 2 = 4 points, round 3 = 8 points
6. Be sure to keep a copy of your entry so you can keep track of your score and who you've picked. Any inconsistancies will be arbitrated by the accounting firm of Arthur Anderson. We'll post current standings on the web site after every round (as soon as we can - usually Monday).
6. Pot Split 75% to Total points winner, 25% to Highest % correct picks, nada-zip-bupkis to pool organizers.
7. Again, the last place finisher will have their entry fee returned; but it will not be worth the ridicule heaped upon them.
