- The Settlers of Lovely County and Miller County,
Arkansas Territory 1820-1830 was compiled by
Melinda Blanchard Crawford and Don L. Crawford.
The first section of the book provides a historical perspective
of the counties and the removal of the settlers. The second
section contains transcriptions of the depositions of the settlers
detailing their reasons or proof of entitlement to donation land
certificates (given to the settlers who were removed from the
area when the land was ceded by Treaty back to the Indians).
As Russell Baker stated in his foreword to the book, "This
work fills a void in our knowledge of these two early
Arkansas counties and their settlers."
The book was published in November 2002 by Picton Press,
